The Children's Holiday Party is one of our club's happiest traditions. Past President Mike Andonian explains how it began:"When I was Club President for the 1989-1990 Rotary year, I asked the members for ideas about a new community service project for our club. Past President Hank Crockett proposed doing a holiday party for less fortunate children in our area. Our club did the first one in 1989 through coordination with the Pleasant Valley School District. The club has held the party almost every year since. The only years missed were 2020 because of the pandemic and one or two years when the privacy laws changed and the school district was not able to allow timely disclosure of eligible students."
This year's Children's Party will be on Thursday, December 15th from 3 to 5 PM at the Boys & Girls Club of Camarillo. Gretchen Cook is coordinating volunteer efforts, and she will have signup sheets at Wednesday's meeting.
