One of the key pillars of Rotary is Service Above Self, which can be carried out in a number of ways, including through one’s vocation. Last week, Camarillo Rotary hosted its annual Business Ethics Awards, recognizing and celebrating individuals and businesses in our community who have exemplified service to others and have operated under the highest ethics. This year's honorees (left to right in photo, with Awards Chair Roberto Martinez and Club President Bob Harrell) are Gary Cushing, Tom Olson and Howard Gold.

As CEO of the Camarillo Chamber of Commerce, Gary directs the organization in advocating on behalf of the business community in Camarillo to ensure that Camarillo remains a great place to live and work.

Tom, a partner with the law firm of Benton, Orr, Duval & Buckingham, has been a respected community leader for more than 40 years, contributing countless hours of his time to various service organizations, including the Downtown Ventura Lions Club.

Howard, representing the Gold Law Corporation is an attorney who advocates for underserved populations, volunteers on a Probate Volunteer Panel for the Counties of Los Angeles and Ventura and does a significant amount of pro-bono work for disadvantaged clients.
