AT OUR LAST MEETING

Last week, Captain Robert Kimnach gave us an informative look at Naval Base Ventura County, which encompasses multiple locations and continues to grow both physically and in importance to our community. The base is Ventura County's largest employer (about 20,000) and contributes more than $2 billion to the local economy annually. It has its own police and fire departments, medical and dental clinics and five child development centers among its 1,600+ facilities.

Future projects include a new Missile Assembly Building ($23.8 million) and a Directed Energy Systems Integrated Lab ($18.9 million).

OCTOBER BIRTHDAYS
Congratulations to Richard Wagner (10/11), Max Copenhagen and Kevin Nunn (10/16), Roberto Martinez (10/18) and Lyda Noble-Sprinkles (10/29)!
CONGRATULATIONS TO TWO OF OUR OWN!

Tim Sprinkles is the Camarillo Chamber's Top Ten Man of the Year for 2021! Here's what the Chamber had to say about him:

"Tim Sprinkles is a remarkable gentleman with a long and distinguished record as a trial attorney and  community service leader in Camarillo spanning almost two decades. He is married to Lyda Noble Sprinkles, a retired florist and community leader who was honored as the Camarillo Chamber's Woman of the Year in 2019. Tim is known throughout the Camarillo area as a community leader and a tireless volunteer with a big heart. He is extremely involved with several nonprofits including Rotary Club of Camarillo, the Boys and Girls Club, Habitat for Humanity, and many others. Tim's dedication to serve others has benefited many residents."

Max Copenhagen is running for District Governor! Max has an impressive resume of service to our club and the district, and is eminently qualified for the position. Here's hoping he'll become Camarillo Rotary's first-ever DG!
