Big Brothers Big Sisters

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ventura County is celebrating their 50th anniversary. The program is very beneficial for not only the child but our community as a whole. Catherine Hoefflin, recruitment coordinator will speak how with 1-on-1 mentoring of at-risk youths (ages 5-18) 98% graduate from high school on time and 71% improve their grades. Also, a youth that does not get BBBS mentoring help is more likely to get in trouble and make their way into the judicial system it costs us as a community nearly 85 times more annually for the same child.
